The 24/7 Lifestyle.
I have been a Domme for many years, I have a life partner as well as other individuals with whom I share my special interests. But I don't have anyone bound each day by ropes or chains in my bedroom. I don't flog anyone each morning as a reminder of their place in this world. Don't get me wrong the constant of BDSM is there in my daily life, in my position it would be hard for it not to be, but I don't invite complete strangers into my personal life.
I would suggest to some of you to forget about all your fantasies coming true if you wish to live the 24/7 lifestyle because nothing is ever exactly as one imagines. If it were, then what use is the imagination? It must always work beyond reality for us to move forward from one reality to the next, that is what makes life challenging and exciting. The D/s life is the same as all lives. It can be good or bad, it also can become a broken fragmented life.
As with all things, your life is what you make it, regardless of your sexual orientation or particular fetish/kink.

I think the whole 24/7
I think the whole 24/7 lifestyle thing is mostly used by dommes and subs wanting big note themselves.
I will only believe it when I see them pushing ( or having it dragged by a harnessed "slave") their trolley through the local supermarket whilst wearing their fetish gear.
